Many international travelers choose to fly from Guadeloupe to Les Saintes since it is usually more convenient to leave from the airport and the ferry schedules are very limited. However, the ferry services provide an inexpensive way to travel to and from Les Saintes.

Air Caraïbes provides daylight service between Guadeloupe and Les Saintes. The trip takes about 15 minutes. Allow at least one hour between your arriving flight and your Air Caraïbes flight for baggage handling, customs, ticketing, etc. Air Caraïbes can be ticketed through Continental, US Airways, Delta, Air France, Windward Airways and the Sabre and Amadeus systems three months or less prior to travel. Flight resevations can be made through a travel agent or directly through Air Caraïbes.


LES SAINTES / ILES DES SAINTES: FERRIES / SEA TRANSPORTATION
Ferry boat services between Guadeloupe and Les Saintes is offered by several island companies. Most boats depart Guadeloupe at 8:00 in the morning and depart Les Saintes for the return trip at around 16:00 in the afternoon. The trip between Pointe-à-Pitre or St. François in Guadeloupe and Terre-de-Haut, Les Saintes takes approximately 45 minutes. Travel time between Trois Rivières at the southern tip of Basse-Terre on Guadeloupe and Les Saintes is about 20 minutes. More limited service is also available between Marie-Galante and Les Saintes and between Martinique and Les Saintes.

Many travelers prefer the cruise ship option for exploring the islands of the Caribbean. The “floating hotel” approach of Caribbean cruises allows passengers to visit a variety of destinations without having to change hotels or make additional connections. There is a wide range of cruise ship options available from small sailing ships to huge luxury liners.
