LES SAINTES / ILES DES SAINTES: LAND SPORTS
Hiking is the major land sport generally pursued in Les Saintes, with the trek to the top of Le Chameau (309 m or just over 1,000 ft) the most challenging. Less arduous hikes of approximately 2 hours each at Le Morne Morel and La Trace des Cretes offer great views and lead through natural terrain featuring the indigenous plant life of the island. There are no golf courses in these tiny islands but tennis is available.

Les Saintes' coastlines, punctuated with rocky coves and peaceful bays, create a fantastic playground for fishing, sailing, swimming, diving, snorkeling and enthusiasts. Windsurfing and jetskis are not allowed in the local waters.

The underwater world of Les Saintes has attracted deep-sea divers as renowned as Jacques Cousteau but even beginners can explore the famous crystal-clear waters. Local dive services rent tanks and gear, give lessons and arrange excursions to some 15 dive sites. These calm waters provide a breeding ground for rock lobster, red snapper, kingfish, conch and dorade, all staples of the islanders' proud culinary traditions. Snorkeling is excellent on the island, with two of the best spots at Plage Pompierre and the bay of Pain de Sucre.

Sailing is a very popular activity and boats arrive from everywhere to relax and enjoy the gorgeous bays. Hobie Cats are available for rent.
