La Maison du Pain de Sucre enjoys one of the most unique and beautiful settings in the entire Caribbean. Nestled beside the famous Pain de Sucre (a mini-version of the Sugar Loaf rock formation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), this spacious private villa is surrounded by acres of lush landscaping with direct access to two of the island's finest beaches.
The peaceful cove just a few steps outside the door provides crystal-clear waters and sensational sunset views. It was recently designated as one of the Les Plus Belles Baies du Monde (The Most Beautiful Bays in the World). The undersea life here provides excellent snorkeling right along the shore.
La Maison du Pain de Sucre includes three king bedrooms with private baths downstairs and two small bedrooms for children upstairs. The upstairs bedrooms share a bath. All bedrooms are air-conditioned.
The emphasis here is on casual outdoor living with large covered terraces, an outdoor barbecue and abundant tropical foliage. Indoor furnishings are Indonesian style and the kitchen is fully-equipped with a microwave and dishwasher included.
There is no direct road into this private paradise. It is accessible only by boat or on foot from the main road. Arrival and departure transfers via small boat from the dock in town are included in the villa rental. If you arrive in Terre-de-Haut by plane, it will be necessary to hire a taxi to transport you and your luggage to the dock.
There is a caretaker in a small house on the property who will also provide up to two round-trip shuttle boat trips to town per day at no extra cost. It is also possible to rent a scooter for island transportation. There is a parking area for scooters on the main road that is about a five minute walk uphill by footpath from the villa.
Along that same footpath there is Jacques Boone's tavern, a great place to stop in for a drink and a chat. The lovely Bois Joli Hôtel is about a 10 minute walk from the villa. Its seaview restaurant is generally open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Optional services that can be arranged on site at addtional cost include: scooter rental, sailboat rental, island excursions, fishing trips, taxis, laundry and extra cleaning services.
