Bordering the length of spectacular Gouverneur Beach, one of St. Barth’s most beautiful arcs of sand, this magnificent estate is simply one of the Caribbean’s finest properties. Including nearly 70 acres of land, its unique location ensures a level of privacy and natural beauty unmatched anywhere on the island. Originally owned by the Rockefeller family and then developed by a franco-american family, Gouverneur Bay Estate has been lovingly restored and upgraded by its current owner.
Inspired by Balinese village design, with many of the building materials coming from Indonesia, the property is not confined to one central building. Instead, the structures are ideally placed on the hillside and extend along more than 1000 feet of extraordinary beach frontage. Two hillside bedroom bungalows afford spectacular views over the bay, while the master bedroom bungalow and another bedroom bungalow are located within 50 feet of the sea. Two gorgeous swimming pools, one with a waterfall, are both within steps of the beach. To take full advantage of the tropical lifestyle, there is an extensive outdoor entertainment area adjacent to the main swimming pool including kitchen, barbecue, stage and dining areas.
The many indoor and outdoor entertainment areas include a small outdoor covered stage, a swim-up bar in the main pool, flood-lit tennis courts, small outdoor huts and pavilions, and acres of lush vegetation and gardens.
The property runs the length of Gouverneur Beach with three paths from the estate leading onto the beach. One path at the parking lot, a second near the Main Pool Complex and a third in front of the Master Suite. Gouverneur Beach, like all French beaches, is open to the public. The public access is located at the eastern end of the beach. Anchoring in the bay is possible for yachts depending on sea conditions. Gouverneur Bay Estate is the private residence of the owner for most of the year and is only available for rent during select periods.
RECREATION FACILITIES: Two swimming pools, one with waterfall, another with swim-up bar, underwater speakers and rear-projection screen for enjoying DVDs. Two floodlit, Har-Tru surfaced tennis courts are on site including one standard court, and one practice singles court with ball machine.
BEDROOMS: All bedrooms are air-conditioned. The Master Bungalow includes a king bed, a huge en suite bath with an elegant tub, an outdoor shower for two, a ceiling fan and a private safe. Its lovely, private pool is just outside the door. The Beach Bungalow includes a king bed, en suite bath, ceiling fan and private safe. Both the Master and Beach bungalows are within 50 feet of the beach. The two Mountain Bungalows are a little higher on the hillside with sensational view of the sea. They each include a king bedroom, en suite bath, ceiling fan, private safe and a smaller single bedroom with private bath. Maximum occupancy is 10 guests.
LIVING AREA: The main salon features a large living room with exotic furnishings in keeping with the Indonesian style. It includes an inviting bar area as well a convenient guest bath with shower. The main salon is located near the beach and the main poolcomplex. Amenities include satellite TV, DVD and CD players and WiFi internet access.
KITCHEN: A large professional caterer's kitchen with discrete service entrance areas allow larger scale dinners or events to be staged easily.
The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and espresso machine. There is also an outdoor gas BBQ.
ARRIVAL: Guests will receive a welcome beverage (cocktail, champagne, soft drink) and a selection of snacks.
INCLUDED SERVICES: A private chef will be available to prepare continental breakfasts each morning to be served poolside or in the bedroom bungalows. Upon request, the chef will also leave daytime snacks and beverages (such as soft drinks, beer and water) in the kitchen refrigerator. Twelve bottles of the house red and white wine per week are included. Other chef services are available at additional charge.
Guests will a have the option of nightly turn-down service upon request.
ACCESS: 4WD vehicle not required but recommended for the hilly terrain of St. Barth. There is a parking lot for 40 cars at the beach.

Our rates for Gouverner Bay Estate include daily maid service (Sundays and holidays included). We provide an escort to your villa upon arrival and local assistance for any questions about your villa during your stay.
Villa rates shown below are subject to a standard 10% administration fee and a 5% St. Barth lodging tax.
